Experimental archaeology is often used as method in prehistoric archaeology. Especially in textile research the results are used quite frequently. However, can experiments also be used in medieval and early modern studies? And in that case what type of tests would be relevant?

The aim of the informal workshop is to share our experiences and ideas relating to the topic, by investigating some of the previous experiments, by doing some new ones, and by discussing visual images of textile tools and crafts.
