Corinne THEPAUT-CABASSET is an historian specializing in Decorative arts and the History of Diplomacy and Europe, trained at the Sorbonne in history of art and in history of international relationships and Europe. She is research associate at the Palace of Versailles since 2000.

In 2010-2013, she was appointed by the Victoria and Albert Museum London, for the 3-years international research project “Fashioning the Early Modern: Creativity and Innovation in Europe 1500-1800” funded by Humanities in the Research Area (HERA), investigating creativity and innovation that lay behind the creation and spread of fashionable goods in Early Modern Europe:

In 2014, she founded the association ART & LUXE investigating the history or arts and crafts and fashion in Paris.

In 2015, her project “Dressing the New World. The Trade and the Culture of Clothing in the Spanish colonies 1500-1800” was awarded the EU grant Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at CTR/SAXO Institute, University of Copenhagen (Denmark).

Corinne Thépaut-Cabasset is a member of the Société Asiatique (French Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres), and a voting member of ICOM-Costume (International Council of Museum).

She published numerous works about the invention of Diplomacy, Royal Gifts, Fashion and Global Trade in Early Modern Time.
