Seminars with CTR researchers are online

Two seminars by the Crop History Consortium in the Ancient Crop seminars, with participation of Centre for Textile Research’s researchers Chiara Spinazzi-Lucchesi and head of centre Elsa Yvanez, are published on YouTube.

About the Crop History Consortium

The CHC was founded at a seed meeting of the French Embassy in London in 2022, aiming to facilitate interdisciplinary integration and synthesis of historical crop diffusion in the Middle East and Mediterranean. We seek to bring together archaeobotanists and other archaeological scientists with historians and ethnobotanists, to produce multi-disciplinary collaborative research and syntheses. The CHC recently became an official community of the European Archaeology Association and a Research Group of the International Work Group for Paleoethnobotany. In addition to the webinar series, our activities include joint publications, workshops, conference sessions, and, in the near future, a series of interactive maps charting crop diffusion. These activities are currently funded by a UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council networking grant awarded to Michelle Alexander and Daniel Fuks.
