Migrant and refugee women show their creativity through embroidering, sewing and knitting

This article describes the author's visit to the project 'Fenuun' at Kolding Design School in Jutland, Denmark. The article focuses on the following points:
- How Fennun creates a relaxing environment for women, where they meet other creative women as well as Danish designers. Here, many things are at play such as strengthening women's social, psychological and economical interaction both with other women and Danish designer.
- Fenunn's aim that is embedded in firstly creating a room where women can practice their hand work such embroidery, sewing and knitting. Secondly, in the long run it aims at women’s integration into the Danish labour market. Doing so, women can get self-esteem and appreciation of themselves.
- A detailed description of the workshop in Kolding Design School and the atmosphere is offered. Especially the techniques the women use and they inspiration and learning processes is elaborated on. Also, how the designers and consultant assist in relation to make products more matchable to the Danish market.
- Data in the article is both based on THREAD and FABRIC applications and annual reports. Data stems primarily from interviews the author conducted with the participatory women and Huda, the consultant.
- The article mentions that THREAD and Fabric of My Life are funded by Innovationsfonden and Creative Europe.

Indvandrer- og flygtningekvinder viser deres kreativitet igennem broderi, syning og hækling

Denne artikel beskriver forfatterens besøg til projektet ‘Fennun’ (kunst på dansk) på Kolding Design Skole i Jylland. Artiklen fokuserer på følgende:
- Fenuun sigter efter at skabe at rum, hvor kvinderne får mulighed for at praktisere broderi, syning og hækling, interagere med hinanden, og skabe selvtillid i forhold til de respektive håndværk de mestrer. Desuden er det langsigtede mål, at kvinderne kommer ud på, og bliver en aktiv del af det danske arbejdsmarked.
- Artiklen beskriver i detaljer, hvordan workshoppen- Fenuun på Kolding Design Skole byder på en god, behagelig og afslappende atmosfære, hvor kvinderne møder på tværs af kulturer og sprog. De omgås med hinanden og med danske designere. Det lader til at kvinderne gennem dette møde styrker deres sociale, psykologiske og økonomiske muligheder på den ene side, og at de lærer fra hinanden og lader sig inspirere af hinanden på den anden side. Ydermere beskriver artiklen, hvordan danske designers og en syrisk-dansk konsulent assisterer, råder og guider kvinderne i at kunne matche/målrette deres produkter til det danske marked.
- Data i artiklen er baseret på THREAD & FARBIC ansøgninger og årlige rapporter. Det stammer også primært fra interviews forfatteren har gennemført med kvinderne i Fennun og konsulenten Huda.
